event 3-desma9
Hello Bruins
The Veterans Journey opera, offered by UCLA Health and presented by Kenneth B. Wells, brought us on an emotional journey that Veterans had to face while returning to reality. The opera's goal was to blend clinical investigations undertaken by a psychiatrist who worked with veteran families to identify the difficulties they had with family members who went to Vietnam to fight for the country. However, many times the problems of veterans go unnoticed, thus I thought this event particularly intriguing in the way they mixed sound with a tale to highlight the doctor's clinical research.
proof of attendanceThe opera is divided into acts, each of which tells a different tale of the resilience of the warriors participating in the war, but it also speaks about the spouses and family members who suffered secondary trauma as a result of the uncertainty and anxiety that war brought. It speaks not just about the soldier at this period of conflict, but also about the aftereffects of war on the person, since many troops who return home have difficulty readjusting to reality. The opera describes this experience as long nights of restless stress and reliving incidents from the conflict where they hear "sounds of screaming, rifles, and fire."The sound of this is triggering for the individual, causing them to be unable to forget the horrific events. This also impacts family members, such as spouses, who have had to stay at home and wait for their loved ones to return. During these periods, there is a women's support group to keep their minds occupied and distract them from worrying. This reminded me of their last event, where they invited Eternal Sunshine and explored the challenge of recalling specific experiences that cause worry and worry. Veterans are currently feeling alone with their minds, with no way of escaping them.
Further studies revealed that veterans suffer from PTSD as a result of the conflict, as well as the capacity to return to reality after seeing such horrible events as death and violence. According to statistics, 20% of veterans who serve in the military suffer from serious depression or post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of their experiences in combat. In the opera, there is a social worker who helps veterans return to reality; oftentimes, soldiers are placed in organizations that provide them with shelter, food, and assistance. It's fascinating to observe how the opera navigates through the vets' path revealed by clinical tests while using sound to relay the message.
